What Things Send Narcissists Into Rage?

Narcissistic Rage is a real and frightening thing.

Unlike most humans, narcissists are very comfortable being in a state of rage. Most of us avoid rage, attempting to handle an argument or problem before it gets to the point of rage for ourselves or others. But narcissists will propel themselves into a fit of rage with the speed and force of a rocket.

I have seen or been the victim of rage many times from my covert narcissistic mother, probably narcissistic father, overt narcissistic ex-husband and several co-workers. Based on my experiences, rage in a narcissist is the outcome from a perceived threat. Narcissistic rage is a direct result of fear. To the average person, rage seems like an overreaction to most threats; it is not the typical reaction to fear. But when you look at things from the narcissistic way of thinking it actually makes sense, well at least it makes sense in the warped world of narcissists.

This is my view of how fear, threat and rage play out in the brain of a narcissist. First of all they create a fake self and fake world; they will do anything to protect them. Because everything is fake for a narcissist they are always on hyper alert for things that would threaten the maintenance of the fake self and fake world.
