How Narcissists Use Time To Control You

Narcissists seem to have a poor perception of time and are bad at time management.

Narcissists are not bad about time perception and management. However, they do things that make them look like they do not understand time and management of it.

Before I launch into demonstrating how narcissists use time to control, it is important to understand the basics at the heart of everything they do. Narcissists create a fake self because they hate their true self. This fake self is so important to narcissists that everything they do is to present and maintain it. Control of people and circumstances is essential to the narcissist in their effort to maintain the fake self. One of the things they do to have control is manipulate time.

In my experience with a narcissistic mother, ex-husband, a business partner and several bosses these are the things I have seen them do to manipulate time:

· They ignore other people’s time frames and deadlines, especially those in their inner circle because control of people close to them is absolutely necessary.

· They do not allow people enough time to do something. This increases the chances that someone will fail or, at the least, miss a deadline. Narcissists believe that if someone else fails, they succeed.
